I was born into this world an innocent and naive soul

The world had not yet gotten to me

Though as I grew older, I became stronger and wiser

It's now clear that this is how I was to be

So happy and caring, loving and blind

In this world of deception and sin

I regret that it happened, but by the time I noticed

I'd been corrupted by this world I live in

Though I'm still so loving, empathetic and caring

I know not what I was put here to do

But the girl that I was and the woman I have become

Share very little similarity between the two

I discovered so young that it's not the world that's cruel

But the people who reside on this earth

Still, who would have thought one was destined to go through so much pain and heartache

Like it was written before the time of our birth?

I'm now, only twenty years young but I've observed this world

From the ants, to the sky .......so blue

Now I know as sit, pure joy hiding tears

In my eyes.....I realize....that I'm YOU
